A.聽FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.4 Graduation.

B. MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully complete eight to 10 full-course equivalents in the field of Development Studies and fulfill the following requirements:

1.听Core Courses: Development Studies 201, 375, 393, 403, 405, 485, 591;听General Studies 300, 313, 500.

2.听Economics Option: 0.5 full-course equivalents from Economics 321, 337, 349, 365, 367.

3.听Development Studies Options: An additional 1.5 full-course equivalents chosen from the Field of Development Studies.

C.聽OTHER REQUIREMENTS

1.听Basic Economics: Economics 201 and 203.

2.听Intercultural Requirement to be fulfilled in one of the following two ways:

(a)聽Successful completion of at least 1.0 full-course equivalents from an approved post-secondary Term Abroad, Group Travel Study or Individual Travel Study program.聽 See the Centre for International Students and Study Abroad for programs that are currently offered.

OR

(b)聽Successful completion of 2.0 full-course equivalents from the Domain of Intercultural Courses (see section 3.2.18).

D.聽DEGREE OPTIONS

The BA in Development Studies can be taken with Cooperative Education.聽 See section 3.4.5 Co-operative Education Programs for information and requirements.

Note: General Studies 201 is recommended in first year.
