A.聽FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.4 Graduation.

B.聽MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully complete eight to ten full-course equivalents in the Field of Communications Studies and fulfill the following requirements:

1.听Core Courses: Communications Studies 201, 369, 371, 381, 591; General Studies 300, 313 and 500

2.听Topics Courses: 2.0 full-course equivalents from Communications Studies 401, 407, 435, 463, 469, 471, 473, 475, 481, 501, 503, 505; and Science, Technology and Society 341, 421.

3.听Communications Studies Options: An additional 1.0 full-course equivalents chosen from the Field of Communications Studies (excluding Communications Studies 361 and 580).

C.聽OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Intercultural Requirement to be fulfilled in one of the following聽two ways:

(a)聽Successful completion of at least 1.0 full-course equivalents from an approved post-secondary Term Abroad, Group Travel Study or Individual Travel Study program.聽 See the Centre for International Students and Study Abroad for programs that are currently offered.

OR

(b)聽Successful completion of 2.0 full-course equivalents from the Domain of Intercultural Courses (see Section 3.2.18).

D.聽DEGREE OPTIONS

The BA in Communications Studies can be taken with Cooperative Education.聽 See section 3.4.5 Co-operative Education Programs for information and requirements.

Note: General Studies 201 is recommended in first year.
